Good news!!! Finally, we already have the new schedule of the postponed May 2014 CPA (Board) Licensure Examination.  

Well, I actually don’t know whether it is a good or bad news for those who are taking the exam since we don’t know what you feel about the postponement but nearly half of the survey respondents said that they were glad that it was postponed because they have more time to prepare. We recently informed you in our post that the May 2014 CPA Board Examination was postponed until further notice, and now, it was scheduled this July.

The New Schedule

The May 2014 CPA Board Examination was rescheduled by the PRC on July 20, 21, 28 and 29, 2014.

Now that there is already a new schedule, candidates now only have more than a month left to prepare. Some of the candidates may have loosen a bit with the anticipation that the exam will be conducted simultaneously with the October 2014 CPA Board Exam while some may have prepared that it will be rescheduled soon.

With more than a month from the last time they attended their review schools, will candidates still remember the key concepts they need to remember which serves as their tickets in passing the CPA Board Exam? With just more than a month to prepare, candidates should go back o their review materials, refresh at least those subjects or topics that they find difficult and prepare themselves for the unexpected.

The Announcement

Following is the copy of the announcement of the rescheduling of the May 2014 CPA Board Exam in the PRC website.

Manila, June 11, 2014 — The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announces that the Board Licensure Examination for Certified Public Accountants (BLECPA) originally scheduled on May 11, 12, 18 and 19, 2014 has been rescheduled to JULY 20, 21, 28 and 29, 2014.

The May 2014 BLECPA was recently postponed due to vacancies in the membership of the Professional Regulatory Board of Accountancy which left only two active members of the seven-member board thereby rendering the Board short of the requirement for a quorum to validly perform its duties and functions, specifically in the formulation and extraction of test items, conduct of the examination proper and releasing of the results.

Meanwhile, with the assumption into office of the new members of the Board (Accountancy), a resolution was issued through Board of Accountancy Resolution No. 01 dated June 9, 2014 rescheduling the new dates of the July 2014 BLECPA.

The CPA licensure exam will be held in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan De Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi and Lucena.
