The Bureau of Internal Revenue has recently issued the list of top 500 individual and non-individual (corporate) taxpayers for the year 2011. The list is based on the tax returns filed by the taxpayers for the said taxable year.
Top 10 among the top 500 in the list of the non-individual (corporate) taxpayers are:

- PETRON CORPORATION
- SM PRIME HOLDINGS INC

Well, aside from Smart Communications, Inc. that maintained its position as the number 1 tax payer in the non-individual category, there were just few managed it to stay on the top 10. Surprisingly, Kris Aquino managed to be No. 1 in the top 500 taxpayers for the year 2011. Manny Pacquiao and Willie Revillame, whom were expected by the public to be in the list, were not in the list.
Well, the taxes paid by the individual are non-individuals are basically dependent on their earnings less allowable deductions if any. If any of the individuals or non-individuals you expected to be in the list are not there, maybe they’re not good enough be there, had managed to plan their taxes well or, in worst cases, had evade payment of taxes. 😉
